How to install the sensor of the electromagnetic flow meter correctly

Abstract: The information on how to install the sensor of the electromagnetic flow meter correctly is provided by the excellent flow meter and flow meter manufacturers. Electromagnetic flowmeters are widely used in sewage, fluorine chemical, production water, tap water industry, medicine, steel and many other aspects. Due to the principle, it can only measure conductive liquids. Although it is more reliable and stable than other types of flowmeters. More flowmeter manufacturers select models and price quotations. You are welcome to inquire. The following is the article details on how to correctly install the sensor of the electromagnetic flowmeter. Electromagnetic flowmeters are widely used in sewage, fluorine chemical, production water, tap water industry, medicine, steel and many other aspects. Due to the principle, it can only measure conductive liquids. Although it is much better than other types of flowmeters in terms of reliability and stability, some problems will still occur in the actual use process of customers. This article will discuss the selection and installation of electromagnetic flowmeters in detail. The installation of electromagnetic flowmeter sensor should pay attention to the following issues: 1. The enclosure protection level of ordinary electromagnetic flow in the installation site is IP65 (dust-proof and splash-proof water level specified by GB4208), and the requirements for the installation site are: 1) Measurement of mixed phase When working with fluid, choose a place that will not cause phase separation; 2) Choose a place where negative pressure will not occur in the measuring tube; 3) Avoid installing near strong electrical equipment such as motors and transformers to avoid electromagnetic interference; 4) Avoid installing in Places with strong corrosive gases around; 5) The ambient temperature should generally be within the range of -25~60 °C, and direct sunlight should be avoided as much as possible; 6) Installed in a place without or with little vibration. If the vibration is too large, a fixed support should be added to the pipeline before and after the sensor. 7) The relative humidity of the environment should generally be within the range of 10% to 90%; 8) Avoid installing in places that can be directly drenched by rain or submerged by water. If the sensor's housing protection level is IP67 (dust-proof and water-proof) or IP68 (dust-proof and waterproof), the last two items are not required. 2. Length of straight pipe section The electromagnetic flowmeter has relatively low requirements on the length of the straight pipe section in front of the meter. Generally, for 90°Flow resistance parts such as elbows, T-shaped tee, reducers, and fully open valves should have a straight pipe length of 3-5D from the centerline of the sensor electrode axis (not the sensor inlet end face); for valves with different openings, the A straight pipe length of 10D is required; generally, there should be a 2D straight pipe length behind the sensor. When the valve cannot be fully opened, if the valve shut-off direction is 45° from the sensor electrode axis°Installation can greatly reduce the additional error. 3. Installation position and flow direction The electromagnetic flow sensor can be installed horizontally, vertically or obliquely. When installed horizontally, the sensor electrode shaft must be placed horizontally. This prevents short-term insulation of the electrodes due to air bubbles entrained in the fluid; it also prevents the electrodes from being covered by deposits in the fluid. The sensor should not be installed at the highest point to avoid gas accumulation. It should be avoided if it is installed at the highest point of the piping system, which is a bad installation position. When installed vertically, the flow direction should be upward, so that when there is no flow or very little flow, the heavier solid particles entrained in the fluid sink, while the lighter fatty substances rise away from the sensor electrode area. When measuring liquid-solid two-phase flow such as mud and ore slurry, vertical installation can avoid solid phase precipitation and uneven wear of sensor lining. At the outlet of a down pipe, it is a poor installation position and should be avoided. The sensor installation place should have a certain back pressure, and the direct emptying of the sensor outlet will easily cause the liquid in the measuring tube to be not full, which is a bad installation position and should be avoided. To prevent negative pressure in the sensor, the sensor should be installed behind the pump, not in front of the pump. Fourth, install the bypass pipe In order to facilitate the inspection and adjustment of the zero point when the liquid flow is static, the bypass pipe should be installed as much as possible for small and medium pipe diameters. When measuring fluids containing sediment, consideration should be given to mounting the sensor for easy cleaning. 5. Grounding In order to make the measurement accurate and the electrode will not corrode, the electromagnetic flow sensor must be grounded separately, and the sensor and the fluid should be at about the same potential. In principle, the grounding of the separate electromagnetic flowmeter should be on the sensor side, and the grounding of the converter should be at the same grounding point. In most cases, the built-in reference electrode or metal tube of the sensor can ensure the allowable potential balance. Therefore, the fluid in the tube can be grounded through the built-in reference electrode and metal tube, and the grounding lug of the sensor is connected to the ground wire. If the sensor is installed on a pipeline with cathodic corrosion protection, in addition to grounding the sensor and the grounding ring together, a thick copper wire should be used to bypass the sensor and connect it across the two flanges of the pipeline to make the cathodic protection current between the sensor and the sensor. It is normal for the electromagnetic flowmeter to show a negative flow during installation or operation. Reinstall it. The sensor is not installed according to the flow direction marking, causing the measurement direction to be reversed. If there is a fault, there will definitely be a solution, so there is no need to worry about this. The measuring pipe is empty or not filled, and there is gas. At this time, the flow meter will display a negative number or the flow value fluctuates. The signal line of the sensor is reversed, because the electromagnetic flowmeter has the function of forward and reverse flow measurement, and the reverse flow is displayed. Swap the signal wires. Fill the pipeline with the medium to be measured, so that the flowmeter has measurement conditions. The above is the whole content of this article.
