How to Install 80GHz Radar Level Gauge

Radar level meter can be widely used in liquid and solid level measurement. Continuous level measurement of various media, even under high pressure, corrosive, hygienic or harsh conditions. Radar level meter is divided into non-contact radar level meter and contact radar (guided wave) level meter according to the different measurement purpose, material characteristics and storage tank environment.

At present, the automatic tank level measurement system used for trade transfer measurement at home and abroad is usually the hybrid tank measurement system (HTMS). Radar level gauge is commonly used in HTMS. Radar level meter has no moving parts, no mechanical wear, the actual use found that the working time can generally reach 10 years, does not pollute the environment, easy to install. When the medium in the storage tank is relatively viscous and corrosive, it is very suitable. The 80 ghz radar has high accuracy, wide working temperature range, maximum working pressure up to 4MPa, and measuring range of 0-40m. The application of different antenna forms and waveguide tubes can meet the requirements of measuring the liquid level of most storage tanks.

The 80 ghz radar level transmitter should be prevented from installing the center of the top of the storage tank, because the electromagnetic wave emitted by the antenna is propagated in the entire space of the tank, and the electromagnetic wave reflected back from the wall and bottom of the tank will be concentrated in the center, forming a great interference, which will drown the normal electromagnetic wave reflected back from the surface of the medium.

With the horn antenna radar level meter, the antenna extends out of the nozzle at least 10mm, if the nozzle length on the container cannot meet the above requirements, you can use the antenna extension tube or consult the manufacturer to design the appropriate nozzle length.

Radar level gauge without waveguide tube The distance between the short tube and the inner wall of the tank is different according to the type of antenna. Generally, the distance between the center of the liquid level meter and the inner wall of the tube should not be less than 1/2 of the beam width. Beam width =2X Measurement distance Xtan (beam Angle /2), the beam Angle is the Angle at which the radar wave power density reaches half of the maximum. When the frequency of the microwave emitted by the antenna is fixed, the larger the size, the smaller the beam Angle. A parabolic antenna has a much smaller beam width than a horn antenna.
