Working principle of submersible (static pressure) level gauge

What is the working principle of hydrostatic level gauge/submersible level gauge? Based on the principle that the static pressure of the measured liquid is proportional to the height of the liquid, the submersible level gauge is made of an isolated diffusion silicon sensitive element or a ceramic capacitive pressure sensitive sensor, which converts the static pressure into an electrical signal, and then undergoes temperature compensation. And linear correction, converted into a standard electrical signal (usually 4 ~ 20mA/1 ~ 5VDC) a pressure sensor for measuring liquid level, also known as hydrostatic level gauge. The submersible level gauge is based on the principle that the static pressure of the measured liquid is proportional to the height of the liquid, and uses the piezoresistive effect of diffused silicon or ceramic sensing elements to convert the static pressure into an electrical signal. After temperature compensation and linear correction, it is converted into 4-20mADC standard current signal output. The sensor part of the submerged static pressure liquid level transmitter can be directly put into the liquid, and the transmitter part can be fixed by flange or bracket, which is easy to install and use. The submerged liquid level gauge is made of an isolated diffusion silicon sensitive element, which can be directly put into a container or water body to accurately measure the height from the end of the water level gauge to the water surface, and output the water level value through 4-20mA current or RS485 signal. The submersible level gauge consists of a special gas-conducting cable with a built-in capillary hose, a pressure-resistant connector and a probe. The probe construction of the submersible level gauge is a stainless steel barrel with a diaphragm at the bottom and covered by a perforated plastic housing. The liquid level measurement is actually the difference between the static pressure of the liquid on the probe and the actual atmospheric pressure, and then the pressure difference is converted into a 4-20mA output signal by a ceramic sensor (attached to the stainless steel film) and electronic components. Submersible (static pressure) liquid level gauges are widely used in urban water supply and drainage, sewage treatment, groundwater, reservoirs, rivers, oceans and other water level monitoring fields as well as liquid level measurement of various other media. The stainless steel sensor of the submersible level gauge has an extensible polyurethane housing material cable, and the sensor with an optional heavy anchor can be used in fluctuating or rapid liquid environments.
