The float level gauge and the magnetostrictive level gauge are two commonly used level gauges, and their appearance is relatively similar, but there are obvious differences in the measurement principle, accuracy, internal structure, and price. The liquid level gauge is also known as the reed switch liquid level gauge. Its structure and working principle are: when the magnetic float floats up and down with the change of the liquid level, the magnetic steel in the float ball attracts the reed switch at the corresponding position in the sensor, so that the The total resistance (or voltage) of the sensor changes, and the changed resistance (or voltage) signal is converted into a 4-20mA current signal output by the transmitter, and the liquid level is measured remotely and can be displayed on the display device. Set the upper and lower limit alarms to realize the position control of the liquid level, or form a constant liquid level adjustment system by other regulators. When the magnetostrictive liquid level gauge works, the circuit part of the sensor will excite a pulse current on the waveguide wire, and when the current propagates along the waveguide wire, a pulse current magnetic field will be generated around the waveguide wire. There is a float outside the sensor measuring rod of the magnetostrictive liquid level gauge, which can move up and down along the measuring rod with the change of the liquid level. Inside the float there is a set of magnetic rings. When the magnetic field of the pulse current meets the magnetic field of the magnetic ring generated by the float, the magnetic field around the float changes so that the waveguide wire made of magnetostrictive material generates a torsional wave pulse at the position of the float, and this pulse moves along the direction of the float at a fixed speed. The waveguide wire is returned and detected by the detection mechanism. The position of the float, that is, the position of the liquid surface, can be determined by measuring the time difference between the pulse current and the torsional wave. Magnetostrictive level gauges perform linear measurements based on the transformation of the electromagnetic field. The float (reed switch) level gauge is a mechanical non-linear measurement. The measurement accuracy of the magnetostrictive level gauge is higher than that of the float (reed switch) level gauge.
