(1) Selection principle of electromagnetic flowmeter The selection of electromagnetic flowmeter is mainly the correct selection of sensor, and the converter only needs to be matched with it. 1. Selection of caliber and range The caliber of the sensor is usually the same as the diameter of the pipeline system. If the pipeline system is to be designed, the diameter can be selected according to the flow range and flow rate. For the electromagnetic flowmeter, the flow velocity is 2~4m/s is more suitable. In special cases, such as the liquid with solid particles, considering the wear situation, the usual flow rate can be selected≤3m/s, optional flow rate for easy-to-manage fluids≥2m/s. After the flow rate is determined, the sensor diameter can be determined. The range of the sensor can be selected according to two principles: one is that the full scale of the instrument is greater than the expected maximum flow value; the other is that the normal flow is greater than 50% of the full scale of the instrument to ensure a certain measurement accuracy. 2. Selection of temperature and pressure The fluid pressure and temperature that can be measured by an electromagnetic flowmeter are limited. When selecting, the operating pressure must be lower than the working pressure specified by the flowmeter. At present, the working pressure specifications of electromagnetic flowmeters produced in China are: less than 50mm diameter, working pressure is 1.6MPa; 900mm diameter, working pressure is 1MPa; larger than 1000mm diameter, working pressure is 0.6MPa. The working temperature of electromagnetic flowmeter depends on The lining material used is generally 5-70°C. If special treatment is done, it can exceed the above range, and the sensor allows the temperature of the measured medium to be -40-+130 °C. 3. Selection of lining material and electromagnetic material The lining material and electrode material of the sensor must be correctly selected according to the physical and chemical properties of the medium, otherwise the instrument will be quickly damaged due to the corrosion of the lining and electrode, and the medium with strong corrosiveness Once leaked, it is easy to cause an accident. Therefore, the materials of electrodes and linings must be carefully selected according to the specific measurement medium in the production process. (2) Installation of electromagnetic flowmeters To ensure the measurement accuracy of electromagnetic flowmeters, correct installation is very important. ①The sensor should be installed in a dry and ventilated place indoors. Avoid installing it in a place where the ambient temperature is too high, should not be subjected to strong vibration, and try to avoid equipment with strong magnetic fields, such as large motors, transformers, etc. Avoid installing it in places with corrosive gas. The installation site is convenient for maintenance. This is the environmental condition that guarantees the normal operation of the sensor. ②In order to ensure that the measuring tube of the sensor is filled with the measured medium, the transmitter should be installed vertically, and the flow direction is from bottom to top. Especially for liquid-solid two-phase six, it must be installed vertically. If only horizontal installation is allowed on site, it must be ensured that the two electrodes are on the same horizontal plane. ③ Valves and bypasses should be installed at both ends of the sensor. ④ The AC potential of several millivolts measured by the electrode of the electromagnetic flow sensor is based on the potential in the sensor. In order to stabilize the liquid potential and keep the sensor and the fluid at the same potential to ensure stable measurement, both ends of the sensor casing and the metal pipe should be well grounded, and the converter casing should also be grounded. The grounding resistance cannot be greater than 10∩ and cannot be shared with the grounding wire of other electrical equipment. If a good contact between the sensor housing and the metal pipes cannot be guaranteed, metal wires should be used to connect them. And then reliable grounding. ⑤ In order to avoid interfering signals, the signal between the sensor and the converter must be transmitted with shielded wires. It is not allowed to place signal cables and power cables in parallel in the same cable tube. The length of the signal cable should not exceed 30m in general. ⑥The installation site of the converter should avoid strong AC and DC magnetic fields and vibration. ⑦ In order to avoid the influence of the relative measurement of the flow rate, the flow control valve should be set downstream of the sensor. For small-diameter sensors, since the distance from the center of the electrode to the inlet end of the flowmeter is equivalent to several times the length of the diameter D, the upstream straight pipe may not be specified. However, for flowmeters with larger diameters, there should generally be a straight pipe section above 5D in the upstream, and generally no straight pipe section is required in the downstream.
