The radar level gauge has the characteristics of high measurement accuracy, strong anti-interference ability, convenient installation, durability, maintenance free, etc. It has been widely used in the level measurement of powder silos. Working principle of radar level gauge: radar wave is an electromagnetic wave that can penetrate the dust and other interference sources in the powder bin. The 5900s radar level gauge uses the physical characteristics of electromagnetic wave to measure the material level. The detection antenna at the top of the pre storage chamber sends out high-frequency radar wave of continuous frequency modulation to continuously detect the material level in the powder bin. When the radar wave signal is reflected by the material, the echo is received by the antenna. Analyze the material ratio difference between the reflected wave and the transmitted wave, and calculate the interval time, so as to know the space height, and then reflect the height of the material level

The raw meal homogenizing silo of a factory uses a radar level gauge to measure the material level. When the radar level gauge is used for the first time after installation, the depth of the warehouse fluctuates at about 5m. According to the field survey, it is found that the platform of the radar level gauge mounting hole is about 15cm higher than the outbound plane, and the height of the warehouse top is 20cm. The mounting hole of rosemount 5900s radar level gauge is 35cm high and 20mm in diameter. Through analysis, it is suspected that the instantaneous measurement error is caused by the interference of radar transmitted wave and reflected wave hitting the hole wall. The error is still large after the hole abutment foundation is treated, and it is suspected that the signal interference is caused by poor grounding. Check the radar level gauge in detail and ground the magnetic level gauge. After treatment, the interference is significantly reduced, but the error still does not meet the requirement of 2%. During the use of the radar level gauge, it is required to avoid the feeding port to avoid false reflection. The homogenizing silo of the plant adopts a six channel raw material distribution device, and the six feeding ports are evenly distributed on the top of the silo. If the distance between the feed inlet and the radar level gauge is too close, block one of the feed holes close to the level measurement, install the radar level gauge at the feed inlet, change the mounting bracket to a trapezoidal device, and install the sensor on the connecting pipe. In addition, the method of adding the diameter of the large connecting pipe is adopted to reduce the interference echo, that is, the antenna extends out of the connecting pipe by about 20mm, and the diameter of the connecting pipe is kept at 250~350mm. The measuring hole is changed from the open type to the sealed type, which prevents the raw material fine powder from emerging from the measuring port, which can not only reduce the loss of ultrasonic energy, but also reduce the fine pollution of the powder in the material homogeneous warehouse, and improve the working environment of the inspector. After this treatment, the measuring depth of the radar level gauge meets the design requirements
