What is the detection method of radar level gauge?

2021-10-21

In the process of development, everything will constantly change. The same is true for liquid level detection methods. More than 5,000 years ago, the earliest liquid level detection method appeared in Egypt. People used a graduated stone ruler to measure the water level of the Nile. With the development of the times, liquid level measurement methods such as direct view method, float method, buoyancy method, and time travel method have appeared one after another.

Radar level gauge is one of the most popular measuring instruments at the moment. What detection method does it use? To clarify this problem, we must first understand what is the direct view method, what is the float method, and what is the time travel method.

The direct view method is to install two valves on the upper and lower ends of the tank within the range of changes in the liquid level, and connect a bypass pipe made of transparent material. According to the principle of the connecting pipe, when the upper and lower valves are opened, bypass The liquid level in the pipe is the same as the liquid level gauge in the tank. Therefore, you can directly observe the liquid level in the bypass pipe to get the true liquid level value of the liquid in the storage tank.

The feature of the float method is that the detection component (float) floats on the liquid surface and transmits the liquid level signal as the liquid level rises and falls. Its typical representative is the servo-type balance float level gauge.

The buoyancy method is based on the difference between the weight of the buoyancy device and the buoyancy of the measured liquid to measure the liquid level. The float method measures displacement, while the buoyancy method measures force. The buoyancy is proportional to the liquid level and density, and is converted to liquid level according to it.
